The Namo Dental Group proudly welcomes Dental Health Week 2025, a national campaign led by the Australian Dental Association (ADA). This year’s theme, “Reach Every Smilestone,” is all about Early Childhood Oral Health — helping families build strong dental habits from birth and supporting every step of their child’s smile journey.
This year’s campaign promotes four essential habits for lifelong oral health:
- Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
- Cleaning between teeth daily with floss or interdental brushes
- Eating a balanced, low-sugar diet
- Visiting the dentist regularly
Health Smilestones

Here’s a quick guide to healthy Smilestones:
- Birth to First Tooth: Gently wipe your child’s gums with a damp cloth daily.
- 0-18 months: Brush twice a day using children’s toothpaste. This is also the perfect time to schedule their first visit to see us at any of our dental clinics in St Albans, Sunbury and Cairnlea. Our Oral Health Therapy team creates a fun, friendly environment for young children.
- 18 months-6 years: Add flossing to your child’s routine as more teeth emerge.
- 6-8 years: Baby teeth begin to exfoliate in the front, and first molars start to push through. It’s time to switch your child to adult toothpaste.
- 8 years and up: Encourage children to brush independently and continue visiting us at our dental clinics in St Albans, Sunbury and Cairnlea every six months.
Is your Child eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
The ADA also highlights a significant concern: 1.5 million eligible children are missing out on treatment under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) each year. At Namo Dental, we proudly offer Medicare Bulk Billed CDBS services.
Eligible families — including those receiving Family Tax Benefit A, Parenting Payments, or the Double Orphan Pension — can access up to $1,132 worth of basic dental care over two years for each child aged 0–18.
